Making A Purchase
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.
We accept credit/debit card payment. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the Internet.
We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. If you are shopping from North America or anywhere else outside the UK, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to US Dollars or your own currency.
Shipping And Handling
Orders will be processed on a daily basis except at weekends and statutory holiday periods and will be sent via Royal Mail at First Class or Airmail postage rate plus a small charge for packaging materials. For UK customers, a Certificate of Posting, giving limited compensation in the event of loss, will be obtained for all orders of a goods value of £30 or more and can be made available to you. We recommend that orders with a goods value of £30 or more should be sent Recorded Delivery as, in the event of loss, if you have asked us not to record your parcel at Checkout, we will be unable to claim any further compensation for you. Please notify us if your order is not received within 28 days of posting and we will do all that we can to trace your parcel. Special Delivery will guarantee next day delivery by 11am. As the cost would be prohibitive, we do not insure goods in transit. When shipping overseas, we are required by law to disclose the contents value and we will endeavour to minimize customs/import duty/local tax, on your advice, but Spinning Jenny will not accept liability for any such charges. In certain circumstances it may be preferable to send your order in two or more parcels but only one handling charge will be levied.
We endeavour to deliver your order right away. We will normally send your order to you in 3-5 business days except at holiday periods when postal delivery dates can not be guarranteed . International orders are generally received in under 14 days.
If your item is not in stock, we will place it on back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
For orders made from the UK, the current rate of 17.5% VAT is added. All other orders are VAT free.
Credit Card Security
When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.
We endeavour to guarantee your satisfaction with our service. All products supplied will be replaced if found to be faulty provided we are notified within 14 days. Any missing components will be supplied without charge. If there is a perceived shortage in cross-stitch or tapestry kit, all components of your work-in-progress must be returned for inspection and assessment.

Any item that we have supplied can be returned within 30 days provided that it is in re-saleable condition and our product seal is unbroken, expect in the case of a Special Order when return may. although not always, be refused and, if accepted, will be subject to a 25% re-stocking charge. Refund of goods value, plus VAT where applicable, will be notified by email. We are unable to accept the return of Appleton's Wools because of dye-lot variations except in exceptional circumstances and by agreement. Items returned from overseas should clearly state "Returned Goods - Unsuitable" on the outside wrapper, and where applicable, a CN22 or equivalent Customs Declaration form be completed as failure to do so may incur UK Customs & Excise import duty which will be deducted from any refund.
